Supporting this Site
This funded by my company, Real-Life Projects, Inc., and by the contributions of subscribers. The site does not make a profit, nor do I ever plan to make a profit with it. It is my way of giving back to the project management community. If you find the site useful, please contribute. Before I started Real-Life Projects, Inc. in 2006, the site’s costs were paid from my own pocket.
How to contribute is up to you. First, whether or not you can contribute, be sure to send me an e-mail letting me know what you appreciate about the site. I consider people who ask me questions to be my best supporters; they give me ideas for future articles.
If you are able, then I would also appreciate your financial support. You have several options, listed below.
Refer a New Client to Real-Life Projects, Inc. or Become a Client Yourself
Real-Life Projects funds this site, and any new business you can refer will help this site. If you like what I write here, you will be doing yourself and your friends a favor by recommending Real-Life Projects to them. I look forward to solving your business problems with practical, timely solutions. The company’s motto is “When you don’t have time to waste,” and I promise that I will never waste the time of you or the people you refer to me. If I can solve your problems, I will solve them quickly and if I cannot I will let you know that right away. View the website for more information.
Make a Donation
The simplest way to contribute is to make a cash donation. The amount to donate is entirely up to you. Consider that professional association or chapter dues run $20 to $100 USD. If you have reprinted articles from this website for use at work, most newspapers and professional periodicals will charge $2 to $7 per copy, or $100 or more to reprint one article in a company newsletter. You get these benefits at no cost at alexsbrown.com.
All major credit cards are accepted. PayPal provides a secure payment-processing service for this site. Enter the amount you wish to donate, then click the button to make a donation.
You do not need to create a PayPal account to donate.
Buy a Gift from my Wish List
A more personal way to support the site is to buy a gift. I have set up a wish list at Amazon.com. Items there are prioritized and range greatly in price. Some are fun and some are serious. They are all things that would be either helpful or enjoyable to me, and would make a nice gift.
Click on the wish list link to give me a gift from that list.
Many cultures have a tradition where students buy a gift for a teacher who has helped them. In this digital age, I never get to meet the people that I help face-to-face. Stopping by with a gift is not possible. Consider these wish lists as an attempt to bring the age-old tradition of gift-giving into the modern age.
Shop at Amazon.com
Amazon will donate money to this site when you shop with them. It costs you nothing extra, and Amazon gives a percentage of all sales generated back to the site.
Click on the Amazon.com box to the right, or on any “buy this at Amazon.com” link on alexsbrown.com. Amazon.com will pay a commission to this site for any items that you place in your shopping cart at Amazon.com for the next 24 hours. I heartily recommend Amazon for its great customer service. By clicking through my site to Amazon.com before shopping, you can help support this site. If you have any questions about books or other merchandise mentioned on this site, please e-mail me.
