It has been almost a year since my last update here, and that is much too long. I have been on a long, personal journey of sorts. Right now I do not have the words to tell you all about it, but I promise I will soon.
I re-read Joseph Conrad’s “Heart of Darkness” recently, and it inspired me. I look forward to serving as your “Marlow” and narrator over the upcoming months. Conrad’s classic story is about an inner transformation and the unexplored limits of the human soul. I can relate to Marlow’s discomfort and tension in that story, and I look forward to sharing with you what I have learned on my own journey.
In “Heart of Darkness”, Marlow physically travels the Congo River, and winds up learning about his own heart and mind. My journey was not physical at all. I stayed in my own home throughout, but I learned a lot about my own heart and mind.
